Custom slides

Use your own Google Slides file when you want branding, extra columns, or a layout Axis Labs does not ship. Add the file on Results → Templates, then point each stage’s Leaderboard and MVP rows at a tab in that file.

Limits

• Up to two extra presentations per event.
• A presentation is the whole Google Slides file. Put as many tabs (slides) in it as you need.
• Each extra can be used for Leaderboard, MVP, or both, on any stage.

Share the file first

Axis Manager opens your presentation with a Google service account. Share the Slides file with:

Give it Editor access. The bot does not modify or delete your original tabs. They stay as templates.

Add the presentation

1. Open Results → Templates.
2. Under Presentations, click Add.
3. Paste the Google Slides URL and save.
4. The button label becomes the presentation title. Click it later to replace the URL or remove the file.

Point a stage at a tab

1. Edit the Leaderboard or MVP row for that stage.
2. Set Presentation to your presentation (not Default).
3. Set Tab # to the slide’s position in the file. The first slide is 1.
4. Save the row.

Tab numbers follow slide order in the filmstrip, including unused slides. If generate says the tab does not exist, count again from the left.

If you remove a custom file later, stages that used it fall back to Default.

Design the slide

Lay out the slide in Google Slides as you want it to look. Axis Manager does not move or restyle objects.

Bind data with variables in Alt text → Description. That language is in the variables guide — start there after the file is shared and assigned.

• Text boxes: variables go in Description. Visible text can be dummy copy; it is overwritten.
• Logo and flag images: Description must be exactly one logo or flag variable, for example {{rank.1.logo}} or {{rank.1.flag}}.
• Tables: Description is one variable listing the first row to fill, what each row shows, and one field per column, for example {{data_row.2 | rank.1 | name | total_points}}.

At least one object on the tab must have a variable. Decorative shapes can stay without one.

A practical file layout

Many organizers keep one presentation with several tabs, for example:

• Tab 1 — 16-team leaderboard
• Tab 2 — 25-team leaderboard
• Tab 3 — MVP podium

Assign those tab numbers on the matching stages. You still have a second extra slot if a later stage needs a different file.
